WELCOME TO

Michael’s Museum

Michael’s Museum welcomes you to this site for a

Virtual Visit to Michael’s Museum.

An April 1 2007, no fooling, The Chicago Tribune in its “Q” section featured an article about Michael’s Museum, wonderfully written by Barbara Mahany & precisely photographed by Christopher Walker.

Our greatest desire had been that a mainstream museum would want to pick up Michael’s Museum in its entirety and move it from our home to install it in one of their galleries so that it could be open to the public!

We have found such a museum in The Chicago Children’s Museum on Navy Pier. We look forward to the opening of Michael’s Museum in its new home on May, 13, 2011.

On your Virtual Visit to Michael’s Museum, there is no admission fee and there are no hours - so stay as long as you wish, come back often .

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

Now, a permanent exhibit at The Chicago Children’s Museum, a virtual visit is no longer necessary. Although this site is inactive, it contains many interesting stories and photographs from the beginnings of Michael’s Museum. It also contains the article from the Chicago Tribune that helped start the journey from our guest room to CCM. Finally there is a video of MM when it was in our guest room, a list of thank you’s and a fantasy Museum Cafe. Enjoy. Do drop us an e-mail with any thoughts, compliments, stories, pictures of your collections, etc!
